The ITEC Level 2 Award in Gel Polish Techniques training is designed to give you the essential practical and theoretical skills needed to provide professional gel polish treatments and begin your career in the nail industry.
This internationally recognised qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and provides occupational competence at Level 2.

What You’ll Learn
Throughout the course, you will develop both technical ability and professional confidence. Key skills include:
* Preparing clients and work areas in line with health and safety standards.
* Conducting consultations and nail/skin analysis.
* Identifying contraindications and selecting the right products, tools, and equipment.
* Applying light-cured gel polish following industry best practice and manufacturer guidelines.
* Providing effective aftercare and maintenance advice.
* Recording treatment results professionally.
Alongside these core techniques, you’ll also build essential client care and communication skills, helping you succeed in real-world salon settings.
Assessments
To achieve this qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete:
* An external practical examination.
* A portfolio of evidence, including treatment evidence and assignments.
All internal assessments, treatment evidence, and underpinning knowledge must be completed prior to the final practical exam, which is conducted by an external examiner.
Your Qualification
Once achieved, you will receive an official ITEC Award — a prestigious qualification that is recognised nationally and internationally. This makes you highly employable in the nail and beauty industry and opens the door to progression onto further VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 or 3 qualifications.
Enrolment Information & T&Cs
To secure your place at Vanilla Beauty Academy, a non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining course fee must be paid in full no later than two weeks before the course start date. Once paid, course fees are non-refundable. *Payment plans are available.
If Vanilla Beauty Academy cancels the course, you may choose either a full refund or to transfer your booking to another available date.
